Masked pieces, off-chain
Individual model operations run on masked values outside the subnet, including masked multiplication with two independent mask owners.
Blindproof
Roadmap · status as of 5 October 2026
Each rung must pass before the next one starts, and each one is published as evidence when it does. Everything runs in mock first, so real GPU time is only spent on a design that already works. Mainnet launch: Q1 2027.
Attack, cheat, and load scenarios on a private Bittensor chain. 16 / 16 passed.
Subnet 575 on Bittensor testnet. Honest miners credited, lazy miner at zero, weights on chain. See the record.
Emissions running and validator staked; waiting for the first epoch to pay honest miners.
Forged, late, nondeterministic, and withholding miners on the public chain, as already passed locally.
Replace the mock server with the deterministic build of a mid-size open-weight model.
Miners on different GPU types return the same output hash and settle against each other.
A real zero-knowledge proof over one piece of the computation, settled through the same rail.
A real workload from a first design partner, end to end on testnet.
Independent miners and a second validator join the subnet.
Miners must keep proof data retrievable for a set window; random challenges and penalties enforce it.
Launch in Q1 2027, with every rung above passed and published.
Masked execution is the research track running alongside the ladder. Pieces of it run off-chain today; it joins the testnet only after the real-model and real-proof rungs pass.

Interactive. The client’s own gateway stays online and crosses each step live with masks from its own pool.
Non-interactive. The client masks, submits, and goes offline; precomputed masking material carries the job. The harder construction and the long-term goal.
